Antifungal and Antitermitic Activities of Wood Vinegar from Vitex pubescens Vahl

This study evaluates the antifungal and antitermitic properties of wood vinegar derived from Vitex pubescens Vahl. Results indicate strong inhibitory effects on fungal species such as Trametes versicolor and Fomitopsis palustris, as well as significant termite repellency. These findings suggest that wood vinegar could be an effective natural preservative for wood products, offering an alternative to synthetic pesticides and fungicides.
